Description of Duties:Under limited supervision of the Career, Technical, Agricultural Education (CTAE) Director, the Economic Development Liaison provides project management, research and development support, and coordinates business and industry partnerships specifically for the CTAE division. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Organizes economic development events for CTAE across Georgia involving key stakeholders such as business & industry representatives, legislators, local and state officials, Department of Labor, Department of Economic Development, Development Authorities, Chamber of Commerce, the Technical College System of Georgia, and the University System of Georgia
• Serves as the Lead for the Economic Development Ready School District Certification
• Designs and creates resources for local and state CTAE educators and their stakeholders that can be used to strengthen economic development efforts throughout Georgia
• Serves as the Lead for Georgia’s Career Pipeline
• Provides professional learning to CTAE educators on Labor Market Information for CTAE Decision-Making
• Arranges meetings for the CTAE Business & Industry Advisory Council and corresponding with council members before and after the council meetings
• Serves as the lead for Educator Externships and for the Georgia Academy of Economic Development
• Makes presentations to various groups about the work being done related to CTAE business & industry partnerships
• Serves as organizer for annual conferences and workshops focusing on work with business & industry, post-secondary institutions, and state agencies
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND Four years of related experience OR Six years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, CTAE, and six (6) years of related experience in business or government
• Experience in workforce/economic development practices and coalition building
• Experience working with business, industry and education partners
• Excellent communication skills to include creating and delivering presentations to various audiences
• Credentialed in workforce/economic development
• Experience in legislative processes and funding cycles
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent computer skills
Salary/Benefits: Pay Grade N - Annual salary range is $52,331.12 (minimum) to $91,579.45 (maximum). Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training, and work experience. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
