Job Title:Training/Development Specialist (Teacher and Leader Keys/Race to the Top – Electronic Platform)

Description of Duties:
Under limited supervision, provides leadership and support for training, communication, and implementation of the Teacher and Leader Effectiveness (TLE) Electronic Platform (Georgia’s TKES and LKES evaluation and data collection tool) as part of Georgia’s Race to the Top grant program. Duties include, but are not limited to, planning, designing, and delivering school and district-based professional learning, training, and capacity-building on the implementation of the TLE Electronic Platform; developing and fostering effective relationships with local school districts and other education entities; reviewing, developing, and updating print and web-based content and resources; and evaluating and monitoring professional learning and training effectiveness and revising professional learning and training based on effectiveness data.  Note: Extensive training and travel are required.  Although these positions are regionally-based, mandatory training and meetings held at central locations are required.  Note:  These are time-limited positions funded through the federal Race to the Top grant. 
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education, human resource development, or a related field to area of assignment and two (2) years of experience planning, developing, delivering or evaluating training programs or academic instruction OR One (1) year of experience at a level the lower level or position equivalent.  Must have experience working with adult learners, including coordinating professional learning activities/programs.  Must be knowledgeable about the basic technology and large-scale implementation of software programs. Must have excellent communication and presentations skills, including advanced proficiency in using Microsoft PowerPoint presentation software.  Note: Applicants who are selected for interviews will be required to deliver a presentation as part of the interview/selection process.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, posses one or more of the following:
• Master’s Degree or higher degree in education, education administration, or a related field
• Experience with Teacher and Leader Keys Effectiveness Systems
• Georgia Professional Standards Commission professional educator certification
• Experience delivering training/development to teachers and leaders in K-12 public education 
• Highly effective interpersonal and group communications skills
• Strong knowledge base of best practices in leadership and standards-based instruction
• Demonstrated success in team building and the school improvement process
• Experience in data analysis and the organization and large scale implementation of software programs
• Strong work ethic, self-directed, and self-motivated
• Knowledge of state and federal guidelines, including the No Child Left Behind Act
Pay Grade 17 – Annual salary range $43,063.23 (minimum) to $75,523.31 (maximum) paid through Race to the Top grant funding. Hiring salary range is $43,063.23 to $70,000.00, commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience, salary history, and available funding. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
