Description of Duties:
Under limited supervision, designs and implements online educational research, planning, development and evaluation activities. Designs, develops and delivers media-rich online and blended learning content and training materials.  Provides technical assistance based on current research and needs assessment. Coordinates development and management of grants, contracts, and special projects. Serves as specialist in assigned area. Must have expertise in communication, technology and instructional design across a range of media formats and platforms to enhance instruction.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Institutional Food Service Management, Education, Educational Technology/Media, Training and Development, Curriculum and Instruction, Adult Learning Theories, Information Technology, Multimedia or Instructional Design or a related field from an accredited college or university AND at least Two (2) years of experience at a local school system, state agency or college/university conducting program research and/or evaluation activities for service programs or related experience. –OR- A Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Institutional Food Service Management, Education, Educational Technology/Media, Training and Development, Curriculum and Instruction, Adult Learning Theories, Information Technology, Multimedia or Instructional Design or a related field from an accredited college or university AND at least Four (4) years of experience at a local school system, state agency or college/university conducting program research and/or evaluation activities for service programs or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess the following: 
• Three (3) or more years of experience in School Nutrition. 
• Experience with planning Graduate Programs at accredited colleges or universities; experience in developing training for various audiences in nutrition and related topics.
• Knowledge of education and teaching field. Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, emphasizing competency-based instruction.  Ability to deliver and support technology based trainings to a variety of different learners.
• In-depth knowledge and skills with current online technologies, including learning management systems, common content authoring tools, media creation and editing software, formatting tools, web databases, basic desktop software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, graphing, calendaring and project management tools. 
• Experience using and/or developing with two (2) or more of the following applications: BrightSpace/D2L, Adobe Creative Cloud software, SoftChalk, Citrix GoToTraining, Microsoft Office 2013, HTML, JavaScript, and Prezi.
• Understanding of how education and regulatory issues impact online learning.
• Excellent editing, writing and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
• Ability to concurrently manage multiple assignments and deadlines. 
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and systems. 
• Solid understanding of cross-browser compatibility and transferring documents from various browsers or software into a learning management system.
Salary/Benefits:
Pay grade – M Annual salary range $46,310.72 (minimum) to $81,043.76 (maximum).  Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment and relevant education/training and work experience and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
