System Technology Planning

System technology plans are needed to ensure coherent, effective use of federal, state and local education technology funds to support student achievement. A current and state approved technology plans is not necessary to be eligible for E-Rate, but it is a great idea to have one.  A technology plan is designed to support your local district's plan and should cover the entire funding year (July 1 to June 30), but not more than three years. Here is a rubric and example of a plan that you may use if you choose to: GaDOE_Technology_Plan_Rubric_2013.doc

Technology Inventory

For the past 20 years, the Georgia Department of Education has collected data on schools technology inventories and infrastructure. This fulfills the technology inventory planning requirements established by the Schools and Library Division for the E-Rate program as well as requirements for online assessments for the 2017-18 school year. It also assists the state and local districts in technology planning.
